GlassyKeep

GlassyKeep is Glassy's bookmarking and web-clipping layer. Save links, page highlights, full-article captures, and annotated clippings from any browser tab — they land directly in your Glassy workspace.

GlassyKeep is included in all Pro plans at no extra cost.

What GlassyKeep does

  • Bookmarks — save any URL with an optional title and tags
  • Highlights — clip selected text from any page; the source URL and timestamp are captured automatically
  • Full captures — save a full-page snapshot alongside your notes, formatted as Premium Markdown via Mozilla Readability
  • Screenshots — capture the visible viewport as WebP; the image is uploaded to your Glassy instance and embedded directly in the capture's Markdown body
  • Element picks — click any DOM element with the visual Element Picker; captured as rich Markdown with CSS selector persistence
  • Collections — organise saved items into named groups

All items sync in real time across open Glassy windows via the built-in realtime event system.

Browser extension

GlassyKeep works best with the Glassy Companion browser extension. Install it from the #/extension page in your workspace. The extension adds a toolbar button and right-click menu for one-tap saving without leaving the page you're reading.

Accessing your Keep

Open the Keep workspace from the left sidebar (#/keep). Items are listed in reverse-chronological order and are fully searchable from the global search overlay.

GlassyKeep is part of PRO_INCLUDED_ENTITLEMENTS — access is granted automatically when your Pro subscription is active and reverts if the subscription lapses. No manual activation or DB write is needed.

Immersive Reader (v2.28.0+)

When you open a captured bookmark, GlassyKeep renders an immersive full-window reader:

  • Ambient backdrop — the page's OG image fills the window behind a dark scrim.
  • Hero image strip — the OG image appears as a full-bleed hero at the top of the article.
  • Left-rail Table of Contents — collapsible rail (toggle with [) showing h2/h3 headings with IntersectionObserver scrollspy.
  • In-reader highlights — select text to highlight in yellow, green, blue, or pink. Highlights are persisted and clickable from the rail.
  • Reading-progress bar — a 2 px teal bar across the top tracks scroll position.
  • Font-size control — five steps from 13 px to 21 px (+/-).
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Esc close; j/k scroll; [ toggle rail.

Video captures with a YouTube videoId render an embedded player instead of prose. Repo captures show a structured header card (owner/repo, stars, language, license, topics).

Getting started

  1. Install the Glassy Companion extension (optional but recommended)
  2. Open any web page
  3. Use the toolbar button or right-click → Save to Glassy to capture content
  4. Find all saved items in Keep inside your workspace
